The New Zealand Thoroughbred Breeders' Association has eight regional branches, plus the Studmaster branch whose members comprise most of New Zealand's stud and major stallion owners.
New members are assigned to the branch operating in the region where they live. Overseas members may request to be assigned to the branch of their choice. These ten branches offer members a number of valuable social, educational and industry contact opportunities throughout the year. Annual branch activities include:
-
Regular newsletters
-
Awards dinners
-
Raceday sponsorships and promotions
-
Stud tours & parades inspecting stallions, foals and yearlings
-
Seminars and guest speakers on, for example equine health, nutrition and management, bloodstock taxation, pedigree theory, selling, leasing and marketing horses
-
Fund-raising to support, for example, race sponsorships and student scholarships
